The Statue
Make no bones about it–even though I, Dooley, am always with Emory in spirit, I’m rarely around in the ‘flesh.’ How better to remind you mortals of the spirit of Emory than with a handsome, permanent aide memoire–a statue.
To learn more about me, Dooley, go to the History of Emory website.
Why erect a statue of me?
- I’ve got more diplomas from Emory than any other living or dead being (BA, MBA, MDiv, JD, PhD).
- I’ve been at Emory longer than most buildings on campus (over 100 years).
- When I'm around, everyone takes notice.
- I have my own Ball.
- I am the Lord of Misrule.
Just remember,
‘Students may come and students may go,
Professors may come and professors may go,
Presidents may come and presidents may go,
But Dooley goes on forever.’
